Mindful Living :  Tips for Sisterhood in Action!

๐Ÿ’ Mindful Eating 

Take time when eating your meals and fully engage with your senses.  Notice colors, textures and aromas of the food.  Chew slowly and savor each bite.  Pay attention the the flavors and how the food nourishes into your body.

๐Ÿ’ Mindful Walking 

When going for a walk, bring your attention to the sensations in your body.  Feel the ground beneath your feet, notice the movements of your muscle and observe your surroundings.  Take in the sights, sounds and smells of your environment without getting lost in thoughts.

๐Ÿ’ Mindful Breathing 

Take a few moment throughout the day to focus on your breath.  Close your eyes and bring your awareness to the sensation of the breath entering and leaving your body.  Do the 4-4-4 technique, inhale 4, hold for 4  and exhale 7. Feel the rise and fall of your abdomen or the air passing through your nostrils.  This simple practice can help ground you in the present moment.

Use technology mindfully by setting boundaries and being aware of your usage.  Take breaks from screen, practice digital detox and engage in activities that nourish your mind and body instead.

When engaging in self-care activities, bring your full presence to the experience. Notice the sensations thoughts and emotions that arise.  Be kind and gentle with yourself as you prioritize your well being.

Bring mindfulness to your work by focusing on one task at a time.  Minimize distractions and immerse yourself fully in the present moment.  Pay attention to the detials of you work and approach each task with intention and purpose.

Cultivate a daily gratitude practice.  Take a few moments each day to reflect on the things you are grateful for.  It could be as simply appreciating a beautiful sunset, a kind gesture from a friend, a moment of joy or saying thanks to our creator the almighty.

Incorporate mindful pauses throughout the day.  These can be brief moment of stillness and awareness where you bring your attention to the present moment.  Take a few conscious breath, observe your surroundings or check in with yourself to see how you're feeling.
